Glenrothes Enterprise Hub impressed local Councillors when they dropped by recently with how it’s helping to boost local business growth. Located in the town centre (1st floor of the RBS Bank), the enterprise hub provides flexible desk space and office accommodation, access to on-site business services for local entrepreneurs, business start-ups and businesses looking to access meeting rooms and event space.
Cllr Fiona Grant chair of the Glenrothes Area Committee said: ” It is great to see the energy and optimism the young business people located in the Enterprise Hub are bringing to the town. I’m sure they will make a great contribution to local economic regeneration and inspire others to join them. The Enterprise Hub is also enabling local people to access vital business training, and generating new job opportunities. The recently established women’s enterprise leadership programme (a first for Fife), had a fantastic take up with the first round fully signed up within 2 weeks. This is a very encouraging sign and I wish all the businesses and aspiring young business people lots of success in the future.”
Cllr Altany Craik, Convener of the Economy, Tourism, Strategic Planning & Transportation Committee, said: “This is one of the important projects funded through the Fife Task Force. These first-class business facilities include high-speed broadband, desk space, private meeting rooms and a state-of-the-art events space to meet the needs of today’s entrepreneurs. The early success of the hub is down to the flexibility it provides the tenants who prefer to work outwith standard hours. The rooms are individually alarmed so that tenants can come and go as they please.
The hub will also provide alternative working facilities for commuters who may experience travel problems during bad weather. The desk space can be accessed by the hour or by the day and from January 2018 a new membership scheme will allow monthly access to desk space and other facilities. The Hub provides a great starting point for young business people and I anticipate new enterprises will be established and will thrive and grow.”
